I have 2 sizes of these and I have LOTS of them. We have an ant problem and these keeps them out. The seal is really tight. You could turn them upside down and nothing would happen. My brother in law even likes them. I have coffee, dog food, cat food, sugar, flour, anything that has been open (chips, crackers, cookies, cereal, Ext...) goes into one of these. Works great to keep the ants away. In fact the ants have kind of disappeared, or at least there are very few. These don't allow the smell to get out. I highly recommend these. They are air tight and they can be laid out in a couple ways.

I like these, and use them to store bread baking ingredients like dry milk, potato flakes, bulgar, and rye flour. They keep the humidity out. I really like the hand-friendly design that makes them easy to grab from one side. I also like that the locking mechanism is only one two sides. If two sides are locked, there is no need for a lock on the other two sides.
The storage containers of the same size that I bought from The Container Store had a measuring cup inside. These from Amazon didn't.

I probably did way too much research into the perfect storage container for flour and sugar but I'm glad I did. This is by far the best storage container for that use of any that I've tried. I love the ergonomic grip, which makes pulling these in and out of a high shelf much easier than any other container I have. They are also sealed tight, which is critical for those of us waging and endless war against humidity and pantry moths. I'm a very happy customer!

The shape is nice and these open and close nicely. But they are just too small. Yes, I can fit in a bag of flour by adding it in thirds and tapping to settle the flour, but then the flour is quite firm to scoop out. And I get flour sprinkles all over the counter because there's not a lot of room around the scoop and cup I'm holding, especially when the canister is full. I kind of miss my old, ugly, (broken) round Tupperware. I like the smaller Sistema that I bought for sugar better bc the sugar isn't so messy.

I bought this to store my flour because I don't use it very often and a five pound bag lasts forever. I wanted to make sure it kept out anything that might get inside a bag sitting on my shelf, plus it keeps the flour fresher. The added bonus was the measuring cup that can be kept with the flour or whatever you decide to keep in your container.
It holds 2.5 liters which is equal to approximately 10.6 8-oz cups. It seals very well and doesn't leak. The plastic is thick and made well. It's made from BA free material. Lid comes completely off.
This storage container has multiple uses. I will use it for flour and plan on getting another for corn meal. Cookies can also be stored in it. You can freeze things in it and use it in the microwave although it wouldn't fit in my small microwave. Best of all you can throw it in the dishwasher.
