I learned how to install them after 15 minutes of struggling. It's still a little confusing, but not terrible. I put them on the rear wheels of my Ford Ranger. It does really well in snow with them on (and terrible without)A few times I had to drive through a small plow pile, like when the plow crossed my driveway and leaves a foot of packed snow across it. Both times I made it through the pile, but one of the chains popped off. (no damage done) The first time, I tried to keep driving with one. I tried to go up a steep hill with 4" of snow on top of ice. I could't do it. I could tell just how much it gripped when I hit the breaks and my truck slid backwards on the side without the chain. the chained tire stayed put. I backed down the hill, put on the second chain and went up no problem. Overall I am very greatful for them for the security and I think they are well worth the cost.
Good quick solution for Honda HR-V

Following the chart, I ordered size SZ335 for my 2016 Honda HR-V. The cables fit the stock wheel/tire setup perfectly. Super easy to install; it took me about five minutes to install one as a test in the driveway (after watching the video). Note that depending on your wheel/tire setup, the metal brackets may overlap with the edge of the alloy rim (the video warns about this). In my case, they overlap a bit with the stock 17" alloy, but there's about 1/2" of air between brackets and the wheel. I am going to glue some rubber pads to the back of them to avoid gouging. Other than that, perfect.
I didn't have any trouble getting this SZ335 size back in the (yes, small, but sturdy) plastic latch case. Just roll them up and fold them over the way they were arranged when shipped.
I bought these for very occasional/emergency use, and for the price, I'm happy. If I lived in an area where I expected to use chains or cables regularly, I might spring for something like the (super expensive) Thule units.

I purchased these snow cables to replace my previous ladder-shaped snow cables, and it's hard to believe how much superior these new cables are to my old set. The installation process is much easier, and the split design of the cables means you do not need to move the car and readjusting the cables, which is a huge plus. The z-shape of the cross cables also provide much better grip compared to my previous ladder-shaped cables, which would tend to spin out when the tires were between the horizontal segments.
SCC manufactures many different sizes of these cables, so I found that my new cables fit my tires/wheels than my old set, which were designed to fit a much broader range of tires/wheels. On the flip side, I guess it reduces the likelihood of using one set of cables across multiple cars, but don't really see that as an issue. The other possible down side is that since it uses a bungee-style tensioning loop, I'm guessing that is more likely to fail. You really need to price in a spare set of tensioning loops into the price of these cables.
All in all, a great product at a good price.

They fit well and are the easiest chains to install.

These are the only reasonable price chains approved by the manufacturer of my all time, all wheel drive vehicle with a constant velocity transaxle. I only have 15mm clearance between the front tires and front struts, while driving or installing these chains with 17" tires. Great web site to ensure you order the correct size to fit even odd sized tires like mine. Read the instructions and follow them. No need to move the vehicle forward and back to install. I could not believe how fast and easy they can be installed and are recommended for ABS brakes. Even on dry pavement the ride is acceptable. One tough set of chains! Replacement cross links are available through the manufacturer if you should need them. Don't spin your tires and you will never break one! Go safe go slow! If you need to install chains ignore speed limit signs that is too fast!
Work great!

Bought these to use on our 2014 Ford Focus SE 5 door hatchback. They work great! We used them on the packed snow/ice covered interstate and on heavily snow covered side roads and they kept us going. Keep in mind the manufacturer limits the speed you should drive when you use these so don't plan on flying down the expressway at normal speeds. They are fairly easy to install but I would strongly suggest doing a practice install on dry pavement in your driveway or parking lot before you have to use these on a snowy roadside in the mountains!
If you are using these on a vehicle with a minimal amount of clearance between the tire and wheel well, like our Focus, I would suggest carrying a overcoat and thin profile work gloves to install the chains because to hook the back link on the chain you really have to wedge your hands and forearms between the tire and wheel well both of which will be covered with snow/ice and road salt. I would also suggest carrying an old blanket or large towel to kneel on when you install these so you don't get your pants messed up. I would also suggest carrying a stand up style flashlight in case you are installing or removing these in darkness or poor lighting conditions, the extra light really helps. One more thing, don't be worried if the installed chains seems uneven when you install it, they quickly self align on the tire once you start moving.
