I bought one of these In-Line GFCI cord sets for use with a generator operating as a separately derived power source. The generator did not have GFCI outlets. I wanted open neutral wire protection as well. To test this cord set I made up a test jig that tested the GFCI feature and the open neutral wire feeding it. It operated as it should.
The plug of this set does require a 20 ampere receptacle. A standard 15 ampere receptacle will not work since this is a 20 ampere plug, NEMA 20P, as stated in the description.
These cord sets have not been used in the field yet, though.
