Not accurate width description
J. Harmon✓ Verified Purchase•August 15, 2017
The description is inaccurate and I'm annoyed about that. It says pair of 54x96 panels. A pair means two. There are two panels, however, they are a COMBINED width of 54", not two 54" panels as the description seems to suggest. I would not have purchased these if it were clear that it was only 27" wide per panel.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

I purchased two beautiful pleated curtains for my double sliding glass doors that take up a whole wall facing the south (so all day sunlight) in my bedroom (151"), we really wanted something that can block noise (approximately 1 block from a state highway), block light and reduce heat and wanted it up on a traverse rod (so opening and closing could be with ease)! Installed and hung curtains with drapery pins onto the rings above the clips on my traverse rod. They blocked noise perfectly, slight light penetrations, but no heat reduction at all due to the brown backing they actually retained heat.
With the heat part being our biggest concern after just a week in use we needed to nip it in the bud prior to summer, so we purchased these eclipse Thermaliner black out reflective white liners. The liners come in small panels, 2 panels per package, it takes 3 panels per sliding glass door, so 6 total for mine. Hung the liners up using the clips that were hanging from the traverse rod, drapery clips are hung in the holes just above them. The string hooks were not strong enough so I hung straight from the material. They land just above my curtains so you cannot see them. Especially love that they velcro together to make it even more seamless, although only 2 will velcro. Recommend the manufacturer adding the opposing velcro to the other sides so when there are more than 2 they can continue to be seamless. It works amazingly for the heat, and an extra barrier to make even more light and sound reductions as well! Just added cost to our overall project but totally worth the money! We are very happy with the final outcome and would definitely recommend!
Photos show before and after liner, velcro'd pieces, length, how I hung them on my traverse rod clips, and final project finished.

Poor quality

They definitely block out the light, but the loops that you use to attach the panels to the included hooks unravel, and now each of my panels (I got 4) is hanging by just one or two loops. Sure, I can stitch them back on, or better yet sew new loops on. But I have only had these panels a couple of months, and who wants to do that after only a couple of months of use? So, yes they block out the light, but what good is their ability to block light when they have fallen off their hooks and lie crumpled on the floor?
Exactly what I needed to darken my son's nursery for daytime naps!

I splurged on beautiful (expensive) Tommy Hilfiger curtains to match the theme in my son's nursery, and although they were labeled "blackout" curtains, they aren't at all. Saw these blackout panels that attach to the back of the curtains and decided to try them. At first I wasn't thrilled that the instructions wanted me to use drapery pins to poke holes in my curtains. I thought about tacking the panels into the wall, but then I would have to take them down and put them back up if I wanted to open the blinds in the room. I considered sewing them in place, but "ain't nobody got time for that," amirite? Also, the package arrived right before naptime and I decided to just bite the bullet and pin them to my curtains.
I followed the instructions included, laid the curtains flat and pinned the panel to the inside of my hanging curtain. **NOTE: this pair of panels is NOT intended for multiple windows! The pair is for ONE window. You attach the panel to the back of each curtain, so that when the PAIR of curtains are closed, the panels meet and cover the window.** It took me ten minutes, tops, to take down the curtains, pin the panels in place, and rehang the curtains. They make a HUGE difference. I'll be purchasing more panels for the other bedrooms in my house.
I've attached multiple pictures of the hanging process and difference between the curtain with this panel and the one without.

It works so well that our bedroom has dropped 7 degrees! Amazing!!

Moving into a new home we have had some problems with keeping our bedroom cooler than the rest of the house. We purchased a few fans but that still did not help with the bedroom. I really like the curtains we have and did not want to replace them with blackout curtains and was thrilled when I found this item on Amazon. I read all of the reviews and decided to order them and give it a try. If it didn't work, well then I would try something else. But! It works! It works so well that our bedroom has dropped 7 degrees! It is about 95 to 98 degrees outside and our bedroom was reading at 82 degrees with the air cranked down to 72. Right now our bedroom is at a very comfortable 73 degrees and has stayed under 76 during the day when the sun is beating at the windows. It is really amazing that the room is nice and dark during the day whereas before there was way too much sunlight.
I read a lot of the reviews and they really helped me make my purchase and I also bought an extra box of drapery hooks as many people wrote that they wished they had bought more. I did try to pin on the liner to my curtains and it did work out great but I just did not like them because they were not flush with the window and did allow some light to come in. I also read where some people sewed the liners onto their curtains and thought about doing that but then decided to just buy an extra rod and hang the liners behind my curtains and that did the trick. It looks nice, it blocks out the light and heat and they are not permanent to existing curtains.
I love how much they work! I still can't believe the difference it has made and how much it has helped. I am sure our electric bill will be much lower in the months to come. If anyone is considering buying these liners, I would strongly recommend them because hands down they are amazing! Some reviews commented on an odor emitting from these liners and others ones I looked at. I can say that there is no odor at all. They look alot like shower curtains to me and are made of a very sturdy material. They also include velcro so that you can close the curtains shut in the middle.
They were worth every penny and I will be purchasing a few more for the rest of the house. I would recommend these to anyone that has a room that is hot due to the sunlight.
