Product is pretty much what I expected
Wayne B•August 21, 2017
Product is pretty much what I expected. It will do the job just fine. Quite simple to use and makes marking the ball pretty simple. It is not a 'heavy duty' piece that you could easily store in your bag--better to use it and keep it at home. Also, I will never mark any of my golf balls with the red marker included again The red ink comes off in your hands or pockets and turns the ball into a mess. I have used a black marker and didn't seem to have the same problems.
Better than others

This hinged clip design is much more convenient to use than the ones you have to snap on and off the ball. It makes it easier to line up the ball for marking.
on the other side of this tool is almost like an * there are 3 arrows

this thing is so much easier than the pressure fit ball marker. i can do 2x the amount of balls. one side you can mark your ball for putts with a t shape. im guessing the vertical line for lining up the putt and the horizontal line is to line up the face of your putter. i have a 2ball with lines on it so i just use the vertical line by itself. on the other side of this tool is almost like an * there are 3 arrows, one for your target and the other two i assume is for your swing path. i guess imagining yourself bringing the club out to in or in to out helps with these additional lines on the ball. i have not used them, i think the extra markings make it more likely you'll mark up your club face on an iron shot.
although I will for this product because I'm that annoyed..

I don't write reviews, although I will for this product because I'm that annoyed...
I've purchased 2 of these in the past month. The first one I bought, after using it for roughly a dozen balls, started making a very wide line. I noticed that the liner had cracked at the bottom and the alignment line was now not uniform. I thought that perhaps it had been cracked when I bought it, so I purchased another.
The new one comes and I inspect it completely, and it's solid. I mark about 4-5 balls and the same thing happens. I look at the tool, and it's cracked at the exact same spot.
I'd rather it not come with a sharpie and a tee and have it be sturdy. I'm upset because I didn't drop either one, or pull on it, or any other type of abuse. 2 products purchased, and both broke essentially immediately.

My first Softspikes Golf Ball Alignment Tool, split on ...
sparky52•August 6, 2014
My first Softspikes Golf Ball Alignment Tool, split on one end of the Long Alignment line the first time I used it. Amazon sent me a replacement, and the same problem happened when I tried to use a Sharpie Marker to mark my golf ball. I think that there is a design flaw with this item which needs to be addressed by Softspikes. I wanted this tool to work out, but that didn't happen. I'm purchasing a different model tool from another manufacturer, hope this one works without breaking.
