Lower Quality than they used to be

I had a have a pair of these tweezers for the past 10 years and I was absolutely in LOVE with them. Unfortunately, I lost them about 2 weeks ago. So, I ordered 4 replacements (2 in the tube and 2 keychain).
I don't understand what happened to the quality of these tweezers. Yes - these WERE 150% the BEST tweezers ever created.
What I got:
First of all, my original pair had a metal top (like in the picture), and writing on the tube. What I received, had no tube writing, and a weird plastic top that doesn't really fit nearly as well or look as quality (first warning of quality depletion).
Second, they are SO much thicker at the point, giving considerably less gripping-ability for a "precision point" that they're claiming. The ones I used to have were so thin at the point, and sharp enough that you could poke yourself with them and it could puncture the skin surface - which you need when digging out splinters successfully. These are overall much more blunt at the end, not as sharp pointed as my old ones, thus NOT as precision.
Don't get me wrong - overall, I mean, they're still very good tweezers. They look just like the photo, they're small, they're comfortable to hold. And one pair was DEFINITELY closer to what I was expecting. But still.... the quality is not the same as it used to be, which was really surprising; I'm hoping I just got a bunk group or something.
Super disappointed.
