Bought one of these - it worked, but it was bent very slightly around the edge and wouldn't sit flat against the cooktop base. Returned and bought a second one - that one sat flush but didn't work at all. I guess my 70's JennAir just needs to be replaced. Based on other reviews I've read and my own personal experience, these cartridges don't seem to be worth the money and hassle.

We have a 30 year old Jenn Air range, Model S160 range. The top surface has two "modules" which can be swapped out with other attachments. We have the "grill" and rotisserie attachments which my mother bought at the time of purchase of the range. I don't think they were every used, and are still sitting in the box. The top coil type burner unit failed after 30 years, and many cooked meals. I started looking for a replacement one, and found an exact match, for a brand new module (Jenn Air calls them "cartridges", and ordered one. The other side was a flat top, and that failed a few weeks after the coils. Unfortunately, I could not find an exact replacement for that cartridge. I was not sure if this module would fit, but the pin-out was similar, so I thought I would give it a try. This is a radiant heat type of cook top. I plugged it in, and it worked right off the bat! This is much easier to clean up as compared to the coil type. If I had know earlier, I would have replaced both with this radiant heat cartridge. This is a testament to the Jenn Air brand, that they still make original replacement parts, that fit their old appliances. Also kudos to them for making the newer type of cartridges backward compatible with older ranges. As an aside, Jenn-Air is now owned by Maytag, and so if you have trouble finding Jenn-Air parts, look under Maytag.

Fit perfectly into my 30+ year old Jenn-Air downdraft. The old cartridge got broken by my teen age son and I thought that I might have to replace the entire range. My broken cartridge said A122, and the A122B is black in color which worked for me. Slid right in in less than 30 seconds once unpacked. It had allot of protective packing that is a great idea. Looks the same as the old one, but uses more modern heat elements under the glass that seem to heat a bit faster. Really good price for this OEM.

It works great. I don't mind the metal all around the outer edges. The main problem I have with it is the built in handle sticking up on the back of the unit. I understand it was designed to make it easier to lift out for cleaning, maintenance and replacement, but when using a large pot or wok, you may need to move it back a little further so you can also use the front burner. Unfortunately, doing that makes the pot/wok lift up and rest on the handle, thus tilting it and making it loose contact with the burner. Our old unit had no metal around it and no handle sticking up in the back and it worked much better for us.

Had an issue with my 23 year old Jenn Air......didn't want to replace the entire stove yet, this cartridge was exactly what I needed, replace a similar item on my stove. My old one was popping the circuit breaker, I swapped sides and it did the same, I ordered this replacement and no circuit breakers have popped, I cooked on it this a.m.! YEAH!!! I saved myself $3500 by not buying a new stove!
