UPDATE: I am updating this review but leaving the original review below, in the hopes that someone else experiencing my same problem will find this update useful. Someone from the seller's customer service called me and suggested that my usb hub or port may not be working properly. I plugged the foot pedal into another computer, and it is working just fine! So I appreciate the help from the seller, and I wanted to make sure to modify this review to be fair to the seller. Thanks for the help!
OLD REVIEW: This foot pedal is less than a month old and now my laptop AND desktop are not recognizing it. In control panel, it says it is functioning properly. But when I go into my software, the foot pedal will not start/stop the playback. This is not operator error, as this is the same brand of footpedal I have been using for more than 5 years. My first one had the same problem, hence ordering this new one. Now the same problem has developed less than a month into having the new one. I will be returning this item unless my call to the seller is returned by next Monday.

I love this foot pedal, which was recommended to me by the company I contract with as being what most of their transcriptions use. It could not be easier to install and use. Just plug it in and set my software to recognize it.
The only negative thing I will say is that I had one before which worked for a couple of years and then developed some sort of issue with the driver and stopped working. I replaced it with the exact same one because it is so great otherwise and seems to be the industry standard, so I hope the issue does not reappear with this one.

This pedal is great. I do some transcription of interviews for my work and it was such a hassle to do them before getting the foot pedal. Firstly, it saves time, about a 30% or so in my experience because you can stop the recording easily to catch up rather than rewinding every time and even rewinding just a bit when you need to is easy rather than having to manually find the right spot. And most important to me, it saves my sanity because having to listen to some parts of the call repeatedly because I was too slow to pause and then had to rewind was making me crazy.

Oh my gosh .. if I had known what a difference having a transcription pedal would make in my getting client transcripts and video I would have purchased one ages ago! This pedal is a bit heavy, but nicely shaped for putting in my suitcase when I travel (ie, easy to carry) and I have it working successfully on two computers with two different transcription programs (still finding my favorite for different activities - video vs audio). I would easly recommend this to others seeking a simple and easy to learn accessory to help them with their audio/video to document applications.

The addition of this foot pedal has definitely increased my transcription speed. I'm so glad that I finally parted with the (actually reasonable) amount of cash for it. It was very easy to start using. Pretty much a plug and play after I already did the easy, breezy install of the general foot pedal software that the transcription site I work for uses. My only issue so far is that it seems to stick occasionally after I've let up on the pedal to pause playing. The audio keeps going and I have to step and release quickly to get it to stop. Honestly, that's a mild hiccup and this is still a very useful product.
