Installation is easy but I didn't find any instructions with the kit ...

Noticed a leak at my sprinkler's PVB after the recent freeze in Houston. Was going to buy a new PVB when I found this kit that replaces the part that broke during the freeze (it's actually designed to break so the rest of your system stays safe during a freeze). For half the price and much less labor I was able to get my sprinkler system back up and running as soon as Amazon Prime was able to deliver. Installation is easy but I didn't find any instructions with the kit so I had to resort to YouTube. Was actually more difficult removing the broken parts than it was to install the new parts. For the price I don't see why they couldn't include instructions in the kit...
Is it suppose to break that easy?? Of course I had it covered in ...

The one that I had broke due to decrease of temperature in Texas and installed the new one on January 5th. Today I get surprised by it breaking out again and the temperature here is 30 degrees. Is it suppose to break that easy?? Of course I had it covered in plastic foam to protect it but still is it suppose to break that easy and that often? Design definitely fails.

Exact replacement. Watched utube videos & saw how easy the replacement is. Took me 20 minutes even with some delay getting the old part out. Local contractor wanted to change valve for $270. You can do it!

This product works very well. Fots perfectly as spare part. I took one star because though the product works, it is quite fragile. If you have an irrigation system with a Febco back-pressure head that uses this, you may loose it with a mild freeze, so this part is a "necessary evil" to bring your system back to operation. It is better than other products in the sense that you only replace this portion of the valve and not the whole valve.
Great replacement part for this valve.

After 20 years, this failed. Instead of being made of metal and forcing the whole valve to crack, this is easily replaceable and far cheaper than a whole unit, The homeowner can easily replace it, as compared to the full valve which I might be so quick to tackle.
