This item is exactly as you see in the photo. Fortunately, we did not have any of the negative issues that others had when ordering, we received it right on time, the packaging was intact and my husband put it together in no time.
The lounge definitely looks sturdy, I wouldn't anticipate any problems with normal use. I wouldn't think it would hold up very well with kids jumping up and down on it, but then not much stands up to that.
The stain on the wood is that light cherry color, which I don't think is unattractive, but be aware that it is very reddish and the stain is not perfectly even in all the areas, so what you get is a rustic look.
We did not purchase this lounge for the traditional use of placing in a patio, but rather as an indoor item in which to place a mat for bio electric medicine. Being inside, I quickly noticed the worst part for us of this item. It gives off a strong and lasting odor, not that it is entirely unpleasant, but as most things these days come from China, I don't know if what we are smelling is formaldehyde or just wood resins or a combination. It wouldn't bother me so much if I weren't concerned that we are breathing very toxic fumes while we sleep, since it is in our bedroom.
We initially left it outside for about a week and then brought it in, thinking the odor should have cleared by then, but after a little while inside we realized it is very much still there.
Not taking more than one star for this issue because while it is a nuisance for us, it shouldn't deter anyone else looking for a good, inexpensive lounge chair for their patio unless the style is just not what you want. I must add that the fact that it folds is great and not something you will find in many other items of its kind. This is the only one like it I saw here on Amazon and it was probably the most decisive factor other than the all wood.
If it weren't for the odor I could say I'm very happy with this lounge chair. Perhaps in time I will say that.
