Works great, heavy duty

Even though we have security cameras in the business complex, I wanted to add an extra security for the containers parked in the lot. This pin lock was the perfect addition to the extra layer of security I was looking for! It fits perfectly on my 40ft container trailers. Very sturdy and and well built. Comes with two keys and long caution belt to make sure people see that there is a lock underneath before trying to hatch the trailer by mistake or on purpose :)

I really like this lock. I lock up everything (and alarm everything) - which drives my wife a bit crazy. When I bought my 5th wheel it never occurred to me that someone could steal it, mainly because it is so large and heavy. Then . . . I happened across trailer and pin locks one day while clicking around Amazon. I hadn't thought about that risk even though it is obvious anyone could hook up and leave with my trailer! Suddenly, I remembered a tiny house video I watched on YouTube where some thieves hooked up to a tiny house and stole the entire home! The owner got it back later from the Sheriff with everything gone - not just a burglary, but they stole the entire house! After that, I couldn't order a 5th wheel pin lock fast enough. I read the reviews on this one and it sounded great. I knew people had said the orange flag fades, but didn't really understand until I received it. I loved the orange flag! I could see how it might reduce the risk of someone running into the sharp edges around the pin and thereby reduce your liability for a busted head or shoulder. I have used the pin lock for 3 months now (all summer). It has worked perfectly. It fits perfectly every time on my 2016 Keystone Springdale (which is similar to every other Keystone), without having to remove the plastic lube plate. As others had warned, the orange flag faded in the relentless heat that we have experienced this summer. However, it still serves as a visual warning to others as it flaps in the breeze, even though it faded white after 3 months. I don't believe any fabric could hold up in the direct summer sun (stored on hot blacktop in a storage lot) for very long. I like the flag so much I plan to get some orange fabric paint (my wife says they make such stuff) and re-paint it. The lock is substantial without weighing too much. The lock itself works well every time. From looking at the key I don't believe it would be easy to duplicate, so you had best not lose it. This pin lock was money well spent for the peace of mind that it offers.

Ordered this King Pin lock for my husbands lowboy trailer. It came without a key. Had to send it back and reorder a different lock. Who sends a lock without the key?
