It works ok, though I use it for my surface grinder so it starts out depressed then goes negative to see how much I'm taking off. a lot of times it gets stuck or give false data.

I use this for rod clearance have used Starrett gauge just to verify that was calibrated it was with in 1 thousands now I have to I like the hold feature also battery life is a little bad but I have spare batteries they sent a extra battery with the dial

This is a very cool toy. Repeatability is perhaps not 1000% but that could also be pilot error. Fixturing is a difficult with these things and isn't the product's fault - it just opens you up for pilot error.

Best way there is to check ring and pinion backlash and other tolerances. Put it against ring gear tooth, hit zero, then check play. So so much easier and time saving compared to the dial face I am used to. Also checked accurate when I put it next to the old school dial style I have to make sure out stayed accurate. Great product, awesome case for storing it in.
