Very sturdy

Sturdy - Those big basses are heavy. I was worried it would be flimsy. Turns out it is strong. It also packs up fairly small so it is easy to take to gigs. I set it up at my last gig which was outdoors and pretty windy and this stand held my big fiddle just fine. Allows me to display my bass at home now too, because, let's be honest, big basses are like a work of art. I recommend.
Great Cello Stand

I bought this stand after returning another cello stand that would have scratched the back of the cello. This one perfectly protects the cello while holding it securely. I love that I can leave the cello ready to play at my height choice. The only negative I see is that it is grey. I wish it were black for a more classic look.

So happy I decided to order this for my son! Taking his string bass in and out of the case daily to practice was a time-consuming pain in the neck. Plus, I had a giant case laying on the living room floor all the time. Now he take the instrument out of the case when he brings it home from school, we tuck the empty case in a closet, and his instrument can rest in the stand for the week until he has to pack it up the following week for lessons. It looks better and is convenient. I find he practices more frequently and with less grumbling.
Sturdy & Secure

Needed something to protect my cello from my 6 year-old son. This fits the bill. The instrument sets easily onto the base hooks, which are adjustable in height to accommodate endpin length. I particularly appreciate the "gate" over the neck rest. It's very easy to slide on and off and keeps the cello from accidentally tipping forward if bumped. Bow hook also very handy, though the diameter of it is a tiny bit wide. Putting the bow on and taking it off is a little clunky, but not enough to detract from my 5 star rating.

Honestly, when my son brought home the upright, he had in lawaway for six months, I was sure we would have to build on to our home, just to accomodate this whale of an instrument. I was skeptical a stand this small could offer stable support and not be a rickety mess for this price. However, I was pleasantly suprised by the excellent design that allows for proper support and makes housing this bass much less of an issue. For all who think I am unfairly judging the bass's size, let me just say, I would gladly build on to have the beauty of the music that my son and this piece bring to our home, I'm just thrilled we found a much less expensive way to accomodate it!
