Bought these beakers as drinking vessels, and as such they effectively hold hot and cold liquids while providing continuous feedback regarding the current fluid level. These are heavy-duty glass, and clean up beautifully in the dishwasher. Plus, they are great conversation starters! The girls at the coffee shops always ask me if I am a chemist/professor. I usually stretch the truth a bit and say "Why yes, I teach a few chemistry courses at the university." I advise shopping around for price, beakers like these are listed for several times the price I paid for them ($28 for a dozen 400 mL beakers). I guess some vendors will overcharge in the hopes of fooling a careless shopper. Tsk-tsk. At the price I paid for them they are a solid value.
