Great product and better price
Amazon CustomerNovember 23, 2016
Unit arrived on time, well packaged, un-damaged and with all parts. Instructions could have been a tad bit more clear regarding which bolts to use in which step. The protective film on the reflector cap was a beast! I enlisted my wife and daughters to tackle this part of the project. Unit went tongether with no issue. Well built and performs well. No noise even on high. I made some weights, utilizing (2) grout bags and approx. 30lbs of pea gravel, that I hid under the lower dress cover allowing me to skip the anchoring step so I'm able to move heater around and have had no issues with tip over.
Bad Quality and Poor Warranty Service

Bought this unit in the winter of 2015. Used it a couple of times and wasn't really happy with the heat distribution but figured it was ok for the price. Went to use it this spring and large flames started coming out of the side. I took it apart and found that the heating element where the flame comes out had come apart. It appears to be poorly built. Warranty was worthless as they lost my unit and won't replace it.
Not bad heating, quick connect was not compatible

This heater takes the edge off on a cold night on the back patio. There is some assembly required, putting together the top, three pipes and base. I found that it works better for us lower to the ground, so removed one of the pipes, so the heat is closer to seating (about 4 feet off the ground rather than 6 feet off the ground). It came with a hose and quick connect for natural gas. Unfortunately, the hose was rather short and the quick connect was not compatible with what sells at the primary hardware stores (Lowes and Home Depot) in our area. I bought a new hose and quick connect so I can use the same spigot as our BBQ, and sold the one that came with the heater.
This may not be for the ocassional DIY.

The heater was well packaged and seems to be working fine, but the assembly and install was one of the more interesting projects that I have done in a while. My patio has a stubbed off natural gas line and I wanted a heater with a large base that would sit on top of and cover the line and valve. The base, cover and stanctions are stainless steel, the burner assembly is chromed, the reflector is aluminum, and the external mounting brackets (see photo) are cheesy galvanized steel that would really detract the overall nice appearance of this product. the english instructions (translated?) stated no gas line supplied, but included was a 3/8" qd flex line that works just fine. Had to tap out some of the mounting holes because the screws would not start and ended up using 3/8" concrete anchor bolts under the base cover to give it a clean look. Also, had to cut a 2" hole using a plasma cutter on the base to acomodate the gas line and valve ( the stainless was too hard to cut).
Overall, for the price and quality, we really like it and cannot wait until it cools off so that we can use it.
Works beautifully

Very well constructed, much better than the typical stuff you see at the local big box stores. There is about six feet of extra hose so you'll want an extension if you need something longer. We have NG quick connects embedded in the patio so six feet was plenty. We live a few miles from the beach where it's relatively breezy and the unit is fine freestanding. If you live in Chicago or tornado alley it would probably tip over without adding weight to the base (which would be really easy to do). Heat output is good, strong up to 6-8 feet away which was more than I expected. It's so nice to use natural gas instead of propane.
