Bought this as a gift for my husband who is in the Army and was recently given a ceremonial dress sword. It's a good thing it's only for my husband and not for a formal presentation. First it does not have a glass front. It is acrylic. I looked all over the descriptions and reviews for some mention of this after I received it and don't see anyone mention it's acrylic. Maybe they've only cheapened out recently. In addition the acrylic on mine has a small black mark on one end. Looks like paint or something but it won't come off and I'm afraid to scratch the acrylic. I'm not impressed with the wood either. I don't know if it's the stain or the wood itself but it's not quality. Like others mentioned the stands for the sword are not fixed in place. They just sit inside the display. I was okay with this because I wanted to put in different color background than the red and needed them to come out. We will see what my husband thinks about it. It may get retuned yet. I would not buy this if you are looking for a formal quality display.

I got this to match a new shadow box I bought from the same seller. It looks really good once it is up. The only bad part about it is, the four mounts on the back are not evenly spaced, so finding the center point and mounting points on the wall was a little bit of a pain. Nothing to merit lower stars, just took a little extra time, and some extra nail holes to get it perfectly centered where I wanted it.
I also thought at first it was strange that the mounts for the sword just sort of sit in there. They don't mount to anything, but it's been about a week and I don't think it is going anywhere, so I guess it isn't necessary.
And the red felt is not as bright as in the photo, might just be how my light hits it though. If you have a lamp that points directly into the case, it will probably be as bright as that.

I am so pleased with this display case. It was bought especially to mount & display my husbands ceremonial Marine Corp sword. After retiring out after 20 years of service, and the Marine Corps being such an important part of his life for so long, it was important to me to find just the right display case for him. I mounted the sword myself & presented it to him as a combination birthday/celebration of the Marine Corp anniversary gift and he was absolutely blown away. I highly recommend this display case. Very good quality & wonderful workmanship. His sword looks wonderful!
