Bought two of these: one kitchen trash, one diaper trash can. Seven months later, running on Amazon Basics D-cell batteries, the kitchen trash can batteries are getting low, and the diaper pail still goes strong.

As for trash, well, we store little people poop in one of these, and it contains the stink. When it opens, the can "burps" stink, because the lid opens up. But between openings, no stink. Baking soda mitigates, for the poop trash.

The can itself is made from a harder plastic than those black nondescript trash cans, which means they get and stay cleaner. Autoclaveable, which means safe for boiling water treatment.

In short, it is what it appears to be, and it's pretty great at that.
