Not reliable

I started off with a single transmitter and receiver to trigger one studio strobe with the other lights triggered through their built-in optical slaves. I was very happy with this setup. But for an upcoming group shoot, I can no longer rely on optical slaves as they will be triggered by other flashes in the room. So I bought enough of these to trigger all my strobes. Of the six receivers I have purchased, two were dead on arrival. Only two of the remaining four work reliably. My first receiver (purchased in 2015) is the most reliable. I have tested with three different transmitters.
Customer Service very helpful with defective unit

Finally got mine working--here's what happened: I waited several months after ordering before I opened the box and tried to use these. The Trigger wouldn't turn on, so I opened it to check the battery. Inside I found 2 black wires that were attached on 1 end, but not the other. I wrote to customer service to ask where they were supposed to be attached, they said they didn't know, but were glad to send me a new trigger, which they promptly did. When the new trigger arrived, I tried it out, but the battery was at 10 volts instead of 12, so the range was about 5 feet. After purchasing new batteries, this unit works fine, and I was able to attach the black wire that had never been soldered in place on the first unit, and it works fine too, AFTER I replaced its battery as well. The other black wire that's attached on only one end is apparently an antenna, and only needs to be attached on one end.
GREAT BUY! DEFINITELY WORTH MORE THAN THEIR PRICE

Although these do provide a simple function, cheaply, these are a lifesaver. These increase the level of your shooting tenfold. Great way to introduce oneself into off camera flash.

Very cheaply built, as they are plastic build all around (with maybe some cheap alloy metal on the mounts). But If you aren't playing football with them, they will last a good while.
The trigger itself doesn't require battery, but the receivers require 2AAA batteries. I would recommend going for rechargeable ones, but you can do whatever you'd like.
I haven't tested out the range, but from the reviews I read before buying they can trigger a far ways away from each other, and through rooms because of the radio waves.
Includes a PC sync cord (which I haven't needed)
Very easy to set the channels of the receivers, so you can get a bunch of these and set them to up to 16 different channels (if my permutation guess is correct)
I have yet to find a con with these, but I do wish the trigger had a shoe mount on the top so I could mount my go-pro on it. I may upgrade to the slightly more expensive yongnuos in the future, but it's not a necessity. They do their job. DON'T HESITATE TO BUY THESE!

You can see below of a picture I took with this receiver and a Neewer speedlite on my a6000. only $60 of extra gear.
95% reliable and a great price too

This is the second set I have owned, the first set ruined because of batteries leaking in them after setting up for a while.

They are VERY simple to use "“ kind of plug-n-play when it gets down to it. I have used them with several different flashes. They work most of the time. Make sure they are connected very well and tightened down, this is important. Occasionally the flash will fail to go off and I can't explain it, but the sync will get off. The flash will fire, but the shutter has already opened and closed. For portraits, I shoot an 85mm 1.4 prime lens in manual mode, its quick, too quick. I think this quick prime gives the triggers fits, it seems to work well with other lenses, I also just stated using the new Canon 20D with the triggers, there could be a bump here. Just power back up to resolve issues.

Overall, it's a great buy. Very affordable to say the least. Make sure you turn them off after a session. I would recommend to a friend.

I have been using this product for over 3 years professionally and I have not yet seen the need to yet upgrade. However, there are a few things I can suggest and tricks that may help this product not be finicky.
- First thing, buy some Shoe Mount Adapters that are metal if you plan on using these on a shoe. I often use the same stands I use for my softbox and I just attach the CowboyStudio Flashlight /Hot Shoe/Umbrella Holder. It basically just clamps the receiver on top. It has fallen over once or twice, but I did have a receiver break not because it hit the ground, but because it fell on the umbrella and broke on impact. It broke because the plastic pieces that go into the shoe just snapped. I know if they were metal, everything would have still been attached to the stand. That's why I upgraded the she shoe mount adapters. So be warned!
- Make sure the slider that goes to the batteries are COMPLETELY shut. Every time my receivers have not worked, was either because the flash needed new batteries, did not give enough time to recycle, or the back was slightly open.
This product has been pretty reliable! Perfect if you need something to get you by until you can afford name brand.
