Very Pleased

The box fit my wood siding perfectly. I used it to mount a LED OUTDOOR GOOSENECK LANTERN . Because of the way the sensor fits the lamp there was barely enough space in the box for the wires. For a regular lamp, all the wires would have easily fit in. And the box looks good, too.
Good Idea

Just what I needed to mount a replacement light on vinyl siding. I used to cut my own from wood, but this works well with a box and mounting holes built in. It is meant for horizontal siding with 4 inch reveal.
Looks good; electrical box is shallow

The notches in the sides don't completely match my siding (installed about 8 years ago), but the box looks a lot better than what I had before, which was a porch light fixture screwed directly to the siding with rusty screws.

The instructions specify that the box needs to be screwed into a stud, or into plywood. I had suitable wood behind my siding, so I could put this box right where the light fixture used to be.

The built-in electrical box is fairly shallow. It was fine for having one NM cable coming into the box and connecting to the fixture wires, but having two NM cables and the fixture wires might have been a stretch.
Perfect mount for any outdoor lighting and fluid lights

I was going to buy this at the local hardware store, but they only carry the 1/2 model. Thank goodness there is Amazon. This one is designed specifically for my house sidings, which is 1/4" or 5/16". I didn't paint it because the fluid light I installed with this mount is also white. There are 3 center holes you can punch out to route wires through. There are a few holes that can be used for different mounting configurations. It looks great with my fluid light right above my garage door. Be sure to seal up the edges with caulking around the mount after installation.
Nice product.

I just had a business install James Hardie cement lap siding on my home and I wanted something better than this
particular business's plastic exterior light mounting piece that they use.
These are very solid and are almost exactly the slope of my lap siding.
You could close any gap with a small amount of chalking or do what I did, and that was to
trim down the rear of the mounts to exactly fit my siding.
It wasn't hard to do and wasn't very time consuming; and you're only doing it once.
TIP***: If you are going to paint the mounts, I would suggest using some fine sandpaper and scuffing up the
surface for a good "key" for the paint. I personally located some spray paint at Home Depot that came close to
matching my siding; which came already painted at the factory.
