most durable & lightweight option for a serious gardener

i am a serious gardener. i am a certified monarch way station, which means i have about an acre of garden space. i have been through many pruners over the years, and these are my go to for deadheading and lightweight pruning. they are perfect for my hands (i am 5' 4"), and i never get a hand cramp like i get from larger, heavier ones, from using them for extended periods of time. they stay sharp for seasons. my only complaint (i'm on my third pair in about 6 years), is that after a year or two the black latch that slides up to keep them closed gets loose, and will move up and down freely and get in the way of both opening and closing them properly. i have generally replaced them at this point. it is annoying, but honestly it is a small and much later in their life issue that wouldn't prevent me from buying them. if you are looking for something small, lightweight, and easy to use, these are a great buy for the money!

As a result of these pruners, I've become obsessed with Dramm gardening equipment. I've had the Fiskars pruners, and these are just so much nicer to use. They feel robust and durable, but still have a shaped, comfortable handle. Also, COLORS.
I gave them a 3/5 on "Light weight", because they're, well, not. But I disagree that they should be. I guess if they were built from titanium or carbon fiber, but otherwise light weight would mean flimsy. These are pruners, not backpacking gear.
I'm (not-so-)gradually replacing all my gardening equipment with Dramm stuff.
