But I know they'll stretch over the top of his foot the more he wears them. They're comfy but if he puts insoles in them they're too tight up around the toes and arch of foot. Not very hard to break in yet either.

I was very leery ordering the EW size. But it is just what I needed. I prefer the heavier boot socks and these provide the room for me to do that. Love the hole package that the boot is built around. Would love to see more color selection.

I have been wearing Dan Post boots since the 1980's, and these Franklin Square Toe boots do not disappoint. They fit my Sasquatch size 12 wide feet with big calfs. They (for me) have plenty of comfort, easy on & off, room in the shaft, but not sloppy. You can easily wear these all day and be just fine.
