Cheap plastic lenses
John Betten•October 23, 2017
I bought this same bollard about 5 years ago, but time and hail have damaged them so I decided to replace them. I was surprised to see that the solid glass piece is now a cheap, hollow plastic cylinder. Light does not reflect as well as it did on the old glass version. It is fairly bright, but moisture condenses inside now since its hollow, as I have already seen. I just can't see how this cheap plastic lenses are going to hold up compare to solid glass.
Exceptional Quality And Value

Although not a Malibu Fixture, everything else about this light fixture is the same as other popular brands for less than half the price. Note that the fixture is rated for 10 watt halogen lamps included with the fixture, and you will have to install the piercing connector, which is also included with the fixture. I rated this item five stars because they are as good or better than the competition and they saved me a lot of money. I ended up replacing the old, corroded fixtures with this model. The new lights look great, and they all function perfectly. I like the way these lights show at night and I constantly receive nice comments from neighbors. Recommended.
Great product - with a couple of faulty items
Audrey Banez•September 17, 2017
We received these before our landscaper was done with our yard. But once he installed them, we discovered 2 of the 6 lights didn't work. I tried emailing Amazon, to see if we could get a replacement, but we have yet to hear from someone.
Is it possible to replace just the faulty lights? If so, we have them boxed up and ready for exchange.
Despite this hiccup, the lights provide the right kind of softness in our backyard at night.

Pleased overall with this low voltage light
Peggy F.•April 15, 2017
I have about a dozen of these lights which have been used in my landscaping for several years. I purchased this one as a replacement for one that broke. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. It provides low level path lighting as expected. However, although the body of the light is metal, the clear portion which is glass on all of my other lights, is plastic on this light. Low voltage light bulb was included. The portion that attaches to the wire is a plastic box held closed by 3 screws.
Surprisingly good - Malibu light replacements
Evan Olsen•February 2, 2017
I am a very skeptical shopper, and I'm also pretty cheap. I usually want to spend the least amount of money and get a great product. I think I've found the perfect combination in this light. As of this writing I'm purchasing some more. I really hope I don't have to update this review with bad news. But, so far it's working great.
BACKGROUND:
I bought these November 1st and have had them for 4 months. I originally purchased a Malibu low voltage lighting set to use in my landscaping. Out of the 5 Malibu lights, 4 stopped working. In fact, the Home Depot near my house stopped carrying the product. I needed a replacement and stumbled across these lights. I was skeptical about the price, but decided to purchase as a test. I needed a new light that was hopefully compatible with other low voltage systems.
LIKES:
Compatibility with existing Malibu low voltage system.
Durability - These 2 Moonrays have been working very well through a colder than normal Pacific NW winter.
Installation - I can't over emphasize how easy this was. This uses a different method than the traditional pinch-connection (Malibu and Hampton Bay). Moonrays uses a small flat box that sandwiches the wiring to make a solid connection. I installed both in 15 minutes wearing my pajamas.
DISLIKES:
Maybe the lead wire to the fixture could be longer. But I'm being super nitpicky
The flat wiring connection box (1"x 2" x 1/2") might be too bulky for some people. But I easily covered mine with mulch.
