If you can't afford a better one, this one is nice to have

It works okay except for the threads that the restraining rod goes into were stripped right out of the box. If you can't afford a better one, this one is nice to have. I would prefer to use a regular indicator and a mirror for most jobs though.

I can zero in on a hole or stud and know that I'm exactly dead center

I've been using this for my home-shop/gunsmithing enterprises. It took a bit of a learning curve, as I had never used one before. But now I can zero in on a hole or stud and know that I'm exactly dead center to it.

I wish that they made a miniature version that wasn't as long.
