I didn't realize until I opened the box, but it comes with a key that locks the hinges. it took me a minute to figure it out, as it comes with a bit of instructions, but not for how to lock. I did figure it out after a minute or two of fiddling though. it's quite nice looking, and so far everything seems good. I'm happy with it

Beautiful display case, although I had asked for it without the padding so that I could customize it. I did not receive a response to my request and got the item with the padding inserted as pictured, which is held to the back with extreme adhesive tape. This would have been fine except I really needed a clean backing on it so that I could use it for my desired purpose, I wish I had known it was essentially glued down. I was able to remove most of the adhesive with remover, but not all of it. I put new material on it, drilled holes and inserted some pegs and created a useable knife display case so that the knives are accessible while still mounted on the wall. I do wish the padding wasn't stuck on so intensely but at least that means it won't go anywhere unless you want it to!
