To disagree with the previous review, I absolutely adore this set of dominoes, primarily for it's lovely simplicity. Each domino is a beautiful hard wood with a simple animal character. My kids have tons of fun with these in many ways: matching the animals, building towers and cities, or enjoying that classic domino game: lining them up and knocking them down. They are a very high quality product that I love to buy as gifts (they will last and last...my daughter has a set in her preschool that has passed through countless kid hands, and they still look as good as new!) The other reviewer is right--no crazy colors or bells and whistles--just timeless, well constructed simplicity that encourages open-ended, imaginative play. A perfect gift for a preschooler.
