I was going to go with the typical white, coated wire kind of organizer but decided to go with these since they looked sturdier. Since I have a number of other organizers I can say this is definitely sturdier. It's unlikly you will get any kind of sagging if you put heavy items on top.

The reason I'm giving this only 3 stars instaed of 4 or 5 is the dimensions. I buy a lot of Hoosier Farms dried ingredients and most are in the same size container. I was going to put some below and some above so I can see them all on the top shelf of my pantry. I measured the containers, read the measurments of this product, read the reviews and everything seemed like it would be perfect. Not so for the measurements. Because of the way one shelf slides oout from another, the bottom one is shorter. Also, the measurements I saw online were most likely from the bottom leg to the top of shelf on the tallest shelf. These are sturdy so that horizontal bar gives you less clearance. The bottom line is none of my containers would fit below even on the taller shelf. I was able to work around that by just putting two side by side with all my dry ingredients on the top and cans and things on the bottom. That left me with being able to see half the ingredients on one side of the closet and then having to slide the door over to see the other half. I finally re-arranged the entire pantry and didn't use these for the intended purpose at all.

A good set of sturdy, coated wired shelfs all the same heigth would have worked better for m purposes. Still.. if sturdy is your word, these are the right things.

I bought this to use as a microwave stand. I have a tiny kitchen and just don't have a ton of counter space, and someone in the Q&A for this product said it would work for that purpose. So, I purchased it. When I received the shelf, I toyed around with it and the microwave for a while trying to figure out the best solution. It just wasn't going to work for that purpose.

First, due to the slatted shelves, it was difficult to get the microwave in a position where it was level and the four rounded "legs" at each corner of the microwave were all positioned on slats.

Second, my tiny, college dorm room-sized microwave was too deep for the shallow shelves, so a full-sized microwave would be impossible.

Third, the microwave seemed to heavy for the shelves. I could have been imagining it or something, but I just felt like the microwave was going to damage the shelves.

In the end, I decided to ditch the microwave and keep the shelves. They work great for holding my coffee and booze accessories as well as other odds and ends. It's not the best product, and I may be biased because I bought it for a purpose for which it was ill-equipped, but it's definitely useful and the price was good.

These expandable shelves are the bomb. They are a great size (measure your cabinets carefully if using inside). They are extremely sturdy and the "expandable" feature is so handy. I have 4 of these; 3 are used for dishes and one in my pantry. This shelf doubles the storage area for canned goods and is a great addition to any cabinet. I am a Fiestaware collector and I have no concern that these sturdy shelves will hold my heavy dishes. If you need to expand your storage...get these. You won't be sorry.

These shelves are so handy that I had to buy another. I live in a small studio and I'm constantly running out of kitchen space, so I was looking for something that could help maximize my space while still looking good. They work great to double your shelving space, especially for low items like stacks of plates or short glasses. I give them 5 stars because they look great, they're super sturdy, and allow you to extend them to the right length.

These expandable shelves are pretty great. I gave it 4 stars because if you attempt to place them on top of one another they move around. The company needs to come up with a way to connect multiple shelves together so they can be more effective. My dad had to come up with something to make the shelves connect. If you use a single shelf it works fine.
