but makes great clean cuts with my track saw
Chris P✓ Verified Purchase•April 25, 2018
Was hesitant to try this at first, but makes great clean cuts with my track saw. We'll see how it holds up in the long run but the first few cuts look awesome.
Seems as good as Festool blade but maybe less durable?

I've had a Festool track saw since around 2004. It's such a great tool that continues to work like new despite the fact that I don't baby it. Given the build quality of the saw, I have little doubt that the festool blades are premium quality and probably stay sharp longer than this cheaper blade. But so far the Oshlun is performing comparably, so no regrets or reservations about having it as a backup when I send the festool blades for sharpening.
Great blade for hybrid metal/wood projects

Just tried out this blade on aluminum sheet laminated to baltic birch ply. Worked really well with very clean edges. No problems cutting through the wood/metal laminate using my old Festool ATF 55. Highly recommended.
Melamine

New, I was able to get a flawless cut on both faces in melamine by making a scoring cut at 2mm depth in the back of the material. I have a Mafell saw with a particular feature that makes this scoring cut especially easy to execute. Results may vary depending on the saw and operator, but the blade can do it. I don't normally work with melamine but I was asked to do some work with it and wanted to check my equipment. I would say that there's a good chance with a track saw and these blades you can get good results cutting melamine. On any job involving more than a few dozen cuts in melamine I'd want to have a fresh blade on hand in case the cut quality from the 1st fresh blade shows signs of degrading.

I bought a second blade to install on a Festool HK saw. Without scoring there's a little chipping on the top side when crosscutting sensitive plywoods. A little filling and sanding will fix it. A scoring cut first might help but I haven't experimented. It's not a Forrest blade but it's ok.

Good quality saw - fits TS-55 REQ. I use it for rough work to save my high price Festool blade.
