This is a jazzy sounding crash. I was really hoping for a different sound. I bought based on a review from a metal drummer, and its not a metal sounding cymbal. If you hit it hard enough you might get a brighter sound from it. I may end up in the market for another. I just can't like the sound. My son who plays a lot more than I didn't care for it either. Its not a bad cymbal by any means. just not the sound I was looking for.
