When I first received and installed these sights on my S&W Shield, I loved them because of the contrasting colors and easy to acquire sight picture. However, I found out over time that durability is an issue with the TFO's. After installing these in March of 2017 (it is now October 2017) I have put between 800-1000 rounds through the pistol and on my latest trip to the range, the fiber optic rod in the front sight simply came loose and fell out. I contacted TRUGLO directly and their solution was to have me PAY to ship my entire pistol slide to them so they could repair their defective product. Instead of doing that, I decided to go with XS big dots and call it good. What makes matters worse is I have a Sig P938 that has a TFO front sight installed from the factory and it also lost its fiber optic rod during a range session. It's clear to me that these sights are not very reliable and I would encourage anyone considering purchasing these for their firearm (especially one used for defensive purposes) to Google "TFO sight problems". I'm definitely not the first person to experience this.

I installed (with an expensive sight pusher) the TruGlo TFO green front, yellow rear sights on my S&W SD9VE. After nearly 1000 rounds through the gun: no problems! I use the gun in competition, concealed carry, home defense, and to introduce new shooters to the sport. I am very satisfied with this purchase. New shooters want me to put these sights on their guns. I recommend these sights!

Installed with a cheapo ($25) sight tool.
I had to snug the sight tool, then tap with brass punch, and repeat to center, but no problems.

Put them on my carry sd9ve, they're awesome.
They give you an accurate sight picture in the dark and are very bright - and I suspect the tritium will be for a very long time, but of course that does you no good if you can't see the target (for self defense you should really have a flashlight either attached or accessible)
I find these also help in daylight though, easier to see and I'm a bit quicker between shots as it's easier to get back on target.

I switched out some XS Big Dots on my 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P Shield for these, and they work fantastic. I love the 3 dot setup and how these light up during the day. At night, the green front sight really sticks out when using the yellow rear, not only in color but in brightness as well. They look sturdy (they are made of metal) and state there is a warranty on the box itself so for now I am very happy with this purchase. My gunsmith took about 2 minutes to install these and the sight picture is fantastic. These will work on the Shield in .40 S&W as well.
