I'm a teacher. I use it to date stamp the work so I can always prove the date an assignment was turned in.
It's easy to use. The easy way to change the date is to simply depress the stamp until you can see the date then turn the dial. I have never gotten ink on myself. In order to refill the pad, simply depress the stamp a little, slide out the tray. Roll the ink on or squirt on, then depress the stamp again and slide the tray back in.

This is a handy tool for teachers as well as any deadline-driven professionals. I use it to stamp student late work with the date it was received so there's no questioning when it was turned in. The only thing I would change about this stamp is how difficult it is to change the date. You have to touch these little gears near the stamp to move the date, which gets ink on your hands. Sometimes the gears get stuck on mine too.

I was surprised and a little disappointed that this stamp did not include the year 2013. I received it at the beginning of December, 2013 so it is not a huge issue. However, the place where 2013 should be is scraped off. So instead of giving me an extra year, they just scraped off the current year. Strange. Alas, 2014 is upon us and this gripe will be a distant memory soon. My only concern at this point is when I change the dates the material on the stamp looks like it will tear/break apart. Let me be clear that it has not done this. Hence the 4 star rating. But it is something I will watch and adjust the rating accordingly if needed.

So far it stamps clear and smooth. Easy enough to change the dates. My version has two red buttons on the sides that can be depressed to hold the stamp in the position to be changed. This is not on the version pictured. Also note this is a very small stamp. Perfect for me but others have complained. I was wanting a smaller stamp and was still surprised at the size. Comes out about the size of a soda can tab (only common object on my desk at the moment).

For nine bucks and free shipping, great deal. Great stamp.

I'm not sure why so many are distressed by the fact that this is a smaller date stamp. Maybe people are not used to things being different and more efficient. It's actually nice that the stamp not a huge, clunky piece of plastic that stamps over half the document. It's bright red, clearly legible, and you can clearly see the date stamp without it taking up too much space on the document. The stamp itself also doesn't take up as much room in my desk drawer, and it was $20 cheaper to buy it here than the near equivalent found at Staples. What's not to love?

I bought a red ink refill for $6 at Staples and inked it when I received it to give it a fresh coat of ink. Tray clicks easily in and out, no mess, and didn't get any ink get on my fingers. Efficient, clean, and easy to use.

If you're furious over this stamp being smaller (and actually better), maybe you need to take your semi-annual vacation.

I use this in my classroom to keep my students (and myself!) accountable for when assignments were turned in. I love that it gives a sense of formality. The rubber seems like great quality, the ink is easy to see. My only critique is a nit-picky one: I wish there was a way to see if I'm holding the stamp right side up; I've stamped some papers upside down. It doesn't affect my rating at all though; I still recommend it to all of my colleagues!
