HARD Case - RA Bock POCKET Model - Fiber-Optic LED Otoscope with 10 Disposable Specula (adult and pediatric sizes) Color-BLACK

Key features
- •How are we different than all the rest. The most common question I get asked about this otoscope. For those in the know about otoscopes the difference is vast. Yes this otoscope is $10-$20 more than similar models but here goes an explanation on why you are getting so much more value in this otoscope than all the other similar models you see on Amazon.
- •Fiberoptic Pocket Otoscope with an optical quality glass lens and LED illumination. Advantages of lifetime light source and very lower power consumption meaning batteries will last and last. Standard disposable specula work well with this model including Welch Allyn brand.
- •FIRST: Most importantly we use an optical quality glass lens. All the others are using a cheap hard brittle plastic lens that scratches easy and also breaks off easily from the small screw that it pivots from. How do I know this? Because at one time we also used the small brittle plastic lens. Now we have an optical quality glass lens that is built with in a tough much more pliable ploymid plastic frame. This is a tough hard bendable plastic that is not brittle and will not crack if the otoscope falls from your hands on to the floor.
- •SECOND: We use an LED module to light this otoscope. This is not a simple LED bulb but an LED built on a circuit board with voltage regulation and a DC/Dc Boost converter. This is the same proprietary full spectrum LED module we use in our Dr mom otoscopes. This is a full spectrum LED giving off a white light similar to sunshine. It is very bright and is usually good for the life of the otoscope. If you own the otoscope and use it regularly and it does go out 10 years from now the replacement for it is only $5 and not the usual $25-$30 that a name brand Halogen bulb will cost you. This alone will save you hundreds of dollars over the life of an otoscope. Halogen bulbs are incandescent meaning they have to heat a small fragile filament of metal to produce light. This eats battery power and it will use many bulbs over time. Incandescent bulbs burn out on a regular basis and even sooner if ever dropped or jarred similar to the way old table lamps would burn bright if you bumped against one and then go out for good. Battery life on our model is also much longer than other similar models that use incandescent bulbs. The extra $10 you spend now will pay for itself very quickly in battery savings alone. My honest recommendation if you have any doubt about the value offered in this otoscope over similar plastic models selling for $10-$20 less is to purchase both and compare. I can almost guarantee this will be the model that you keep.
