Well I have a old HP I no longer use, I wanted to retrive info from that HD is what I bought this product for. The HD will run but so far I haven't been able to get a thing from it???? But that same HP had a dvd player, that was never hardly used, so I took it out and useing this converter adapter I now have a second dvd player that works great! That HD had windows xp on it? And the PC I am using now has windows 7?? When I hook that HD up it doesn't reconize it on the my computer page?? It did the dvd player??? I am not a PC expert, just learn a little here and there? But I have found nothing wrong with this product, I don't think? And as always the shipping was very fast at Amazon!

I used this product to get the data off of an older machine that was not longer functional. This older machine had IDE drives that were not compatible with my newer PC. So, this kit proved to be very useful in getting the old data onto my new PC. The kit worked flawlessly. I connected the supplied power and USB adapters into the old IDE hard drive and then plunged it into the USB port on my new Windows 7 machine. Within seconds, I was copying all my old files over to the new machine.

A great product for utilizing internal PC hard drives. The only problem I had was that it didn't come with a US power cord. I took a pic of what foreign power cable was included. If you buy this product, just buy a regular PC power cable or maybe you already have a spare? Anyways, this is a good buy. Thanks

I have several old internal HD that I didn't know if they are still good or not, after my PC crashed. This USB Hard Drive Converter Adapter helped me to figured out which HD is still good by re-initializing them through the USB port of my laptop. I was able to save two 500GB Hard Drives and found out only one was bad (it can not be initialized). This product is not only versatile, it's can be used for both SATA and IDE HD.
