I purchased this specifically because my 12 year-old daughter needed a new drum and this one came with a case. My 15 year-old daughter, who is also in the school band, informed me that my 12 year-old would need a case, so I should get this one. The stand is not for someone standing up to play, it is for someone sitting and playing a whole drum set. But my little drummer girl did have an extra stand at school. It was an inexpensive drum that she desperately needed. I would DEFINITELY purchase this item again. The bag did have a slight odor, but that is not a big deal to me.

it has everything my kid needs. the drum sounds good, the stand works okay: it's maybe a little too short and the height is not adjustable. the practice pad does its job, but i can't stand the rubbery smell of it. the bag is awesome. a good quality overall.
