The gluing process knocked a star from the 'easy to assemble' grade, just because it's a bit awkward and not easy to get right without getting on yourself. That said, the directions are clear and the products fit well and look good. I appreciated the 3" neck for mounting our lamp, which saved money and I think looks better AND is stronger than purchasing and using a lamp-base adapter on a square top post. I'm very happy with this product.

The two things I didn't like. The instructions say use a generous amount of the vinyl glue which is an arbitrary statement and would be better to say use a 1/4 inch bead or sum such statement that would be more definitive and also leave enough glue in the tube for the final piece. I also don't like the look of the screws that mount the vinyl post to the inside wood post. My eye is always drawn to them. I think I'm going to change them to flat head screws that shouldn't show up as much. Other than that it looks pretty good.

I was reluctant to purchase vinyl lamp post because I have seen many whose finish fades, dulls and frankly, looks like a piece of ill-formed plastic. These are surprisingly well-detailed with excellent finish, sharp highlights and a quality finish that looks like high-gloss paint at 10 feet away. The enclosed instructions were very well written. I actually placed one post over an old, dull aluminum post that was still solid. After wiring, I used some of the foam packing material to fill in the interior space and used the enclosed screws to attach the new post to the old. It looks great. After 6 months and a hard winter, these posts still look brand new.

I ordered two posts and they look great and with the 4x4 post they are sturdy. Easy to mount. One draw back is the plastic parts that have to slide onto the main post had to be trimmed just a bit for fit. I took one stare off due to the poor fit of the trim.

Well we got the post on delivery time as said by shipping. We got the post up this summer, Wow, Wow and then some. the post looks nice and goes great with the cottage look of the house. We got a home improvement Man in town to install it. Us old ladies thought it might go better that way. He said the directions were good to follow and the glue that was sent work out well. He has worked with other glues and had problems and will look for this brand of glue for other projects in the future that has PVC material in the kit. Before I ordered,I read some folks had a hard time with the glue sent in the kit. So the handyman was told not to stress over the glue sent ,but to choose with what he knew best for the job. So to my surprise he used the glue and he realty liked it. That was my only concern about the kit. I love the look and all my neighbors said, they might look to go solar soon. Now we need to work on that flowerbed. Fear not , ordering this line product.
