Great Lubricant for Tight RCA Plugs
Larry45✓ Verified Purchase•December 29, 2016
I have a vintage Pioneer receiver, and the RCA jacks on it are a very tight fit for most modern cables. I bought a U-Green 3.5mm to RCA cable and could not even begin to get those RCA plugs onto my receiver jacks. Today I received this tube of DeoxIT Gold and dabbed just a little inside the gold rims of those RCA plugs, and was able to slide them right onto my receiver jacks. It makes a great lubricant for that type of application.
Be aware, though, that the opening of this tube is fairly large after you cut the tip off. If I had it to do over again, I'd get the product in a container with a needle nose dispenser. I couldn't get the tip of this tube inside the rims of those RCA cable plugs, so I had to squeeze some out and dab it in with a toothpick. A needle nose dispenser would have made the job a lot easier.

A classic technician's tool!
Russ✓ Verified Purchase•May 6, 2016
Yes indeed, a classic technician's tool! This contact enhancer will restore and enhance electrical connections to almost anything! I have used it for many years as an electronics technician, this is a high quality product. Yes it is a small tube, but it only takes a vera small drop to do the job. My most recent repair is a Samsung LED tv that was intermittent. Coat all of the connectors and cables with this sparingly, plug it back together, wait an hour or two for the solution to do the job, and viola! It works! This tv has been working perfectly for four months now. One of the best applications for this is to coat your audio connections. You will be surprised at the results; clearer, cleaner sound. Great Stuff!
Magical stuff – essential for mech mods and Kicks
Comdet✓ Verified Purchase•October 12, 2014
This is one of those rare products that actually lives up to the hype. It works wonders on all types of connections. I'm using it with mech mods "“ a little dab on all the contacts and it makes a marked improvement in conductivity and reliable firing.
If the contacts are oxidized, you have to clean them first before applying Deoxit gold. The regular Deoxit (the red stuff) does a good job. After they are clean just dab on the Deoxit Gold, wait a couple of minutes, and you're good to go. It's safe to use on gold and other precious metal plated contacts.
It has solved the problem I was having with Kick modules losing connection and failing to fire. A dab on the top and bottom contacts, plus the ground posts and it works wonders. I was even able to get my clone Kick to work reliably.
Highly recommend. Not cheap, but the small tube lasts a long time since you don't need to use much at all, and the effects last for quite a while.

Cellphone antenna
RemedyRepair✓ Verified Purchase•September 21, 2014
The Samsung Galaxy S3 cellphone is infamous for having bad contacts between the motherboard and the GPS antenna, which causes the GPS to fail. Fixing it yourself involves tightening the screws between the motherboard and antenna every few weeks to regain contact, which I've done frequently - but this seems to loose effectiveness after 6 months, and tightening the screws has no further benefit. My phone had reached the point where, in order to get GPS location, I would have to rap the back of the phone repeatedly with my knuckles while watching a GPS status app until finally the satellites would be recognized. Over the past two years I've exchanged my S3 three times when the GPS finally stopped working permanently, and I was on the verge of exchanging again (under insurance). However, this time, I decided to try DeoxITGold on the connectors first.
After I received the bottle and read the directions, I realized this "Gold" product is to be used on connectors that are already clean and free of oxidation. The instructions on the "Gold" package recommend pre-cleaning with DeoxIT "D" first, which would make the total cost pretty substantial. However, I went ahead and used the DeoxIT Gold on my cell phone antenna contacts without pre-cleaning the contacts.
Before application of DeoxIT G, I tested the acquisition time for GPS lock to be about 5 minutes. That has been fairly common for the last month, except for the many times it completely failed to acquire a GPS lock (without physical abuse).
After treatment of the GPS antenna contacts with DeoxIT Gold, I was able to acquire a lock in 4 seconds - which I've never seen before.
I also treated the other antenna connectors, but I have seen no improvement in voice or data connectivity.
The antenna connectors are not gold on both sides - they are gold springs on the mother board and a grayish metal on the antenna side. Not sure if DeoxIT Gold was the correct solution to use when the connector has dissimilar metals on each side.
In hindsight, I wish I had bought a much smaller quantity of the product. The "Squeeze Tube Samples Kit" would have been a lot cheaper, would have provided the "D" cleaner as well as the "G" enhancer, and would have been a quantity more than sufficient for my purposes.
It's been a week since I treated the GPS antenna connectors in my cellphone, and it's still working. I'll update my review in a few months to confirm the long range effects.

Smooth Running Trains
Myles Marcovitch✓ Verified Purchase•May 10, 2014
While this product never mentions that it's great for cleaning and lubricating the pickup rollers on 3-rail model trains, it does that job exceptionally well. I was having lots of running problems will all of my engines on a new build model railroad. The railroad had laid dormant for month as I was working on scenery and as a result, both the track and the engines had dirt and oxide buildup on them. The engines bucked and stalled and simply ran awfully. I tried cleaning the parts with solvent and abrasives, but it wasn't resolving. I posted the question on a model railroad forum and was told about Deoxit brand contact cleaners. I bought both the spray and the Gold Liquid tube product. I used a drop of the Gold on the engine's roller and roller pins and they run great. Smooth, no stalling, just as they should. This product is a conductive lubricant that removes oxide and lubricates electrical contacts resulting in better electrically conductivity and no arcing. I forgot to mention that the engines were also sparking terribly which was creating further roller and track oxidation making the problem worse. GOLD Liquid stopped that from happening. This product was a great discovery and I will continue to use it as long as I'm a model railroader.
