I don't 'attach' these (I have two of these) to any cage at all. I use them on platform tables for my African Grays so the branches sit on the table, not attached WHICH is why I needed LARGE and heavy. While African Grays are not the largest of parrots, they are VERY strong! I got one of these about three years ago (same store here on Amazon) and my two 'Kids' (grays) were fighting over position SO I ordered a second which arrived within just a couple days of ordering and now, thankfully, each has their own mountain limb! (oh I'm sure they'll still be some argument over which gets which but oh well!) I am VERY pleased with these branches!

Heavier then expected for the new cage. The older cage is made of heavier steel and can hold the piece. I also wish manufacturers would take into account the weight when designing the holding piece. The ring needs to be larger to distribute the weight. The branch itself great.

This perch was a lot bigger than I expected. It works out great though. I put it on the top of my tiel's cage, and it's like a playgym now. She can sit up there and look out the window. She loves it.

My fifth time buying this, it's a hit or miss as sometimes i get a really good one (left) and other times it's just awkwardly shaped and not sturdy enough (right)
If you get a good one it will last you a really long time even with 2 macaws. I am pretty sure one just hit the one year mark which is very impressive as nothing lasts with my birds.

Although from what I've seen people mostly buy this product for larger birds I have to admit my Budgies absolutely love it. It came quickly and is a lot larger than I had expected. I'll definitely be buying from A&E cage company again.
