Using a thick spray of aqua net extra super hold unscented spray on a glass bed, my 3D prints always adhere and self release when the bed cools. This works perfectly. The key is to let the glass cool so the parts are easily removable and to allow the layer of hair spray to dry completely before starting the print. Glue sticks, PEI sheets, flex beds, all help the parts adhere; however, only this spray helps with the release as well!
