I have used Panasonics in the past, and this unit was replacing a Vtext unit (I needed a two line unit.)
This one has a much better vmail system (you can delete a message without listening to the whole thing, etc.)
One of the BEST parts of this unit, and it may seem small, but it REALLY makes a difference, are the plugs.
Instead of having the typical "wall wart" converters that take up more than one plug in a receptacle, or power strip, these have the entire converter in the footprint of one plug with the wire going out the side. It is a small feature like this that really shows that a company is putting thought into their products.
One downside (super minor)- the LCD on the phones don't light until you press a button. The old Vtech lit up once they were removed from the base.

We bought this for our home office and it works great. We have our home phone on line 1 and our business on line 2. Sound is clear. Answering machine is not great (sound quality on answer machine is not great), but that is not a big deal for us because we are using internet based phones for both and just use the online voice mail. I looked and priced out quite a few options and this is the best deal. Highly recommend.

About a decade ago we bought a VTech cordless phone set for one of our business phone lines. To this day, those phoned continue to work and work well. All the numbers are worn off the keypad at this point. That's a testament to how much use they've had. On our second line we had bought the top rated Panasonic cordless phones. They lasted only a couple of years and we replaced them with other VTechs.

Even though our old phones still work properly, we were excited that we could now get VTech phones with hold, multiple lines, phone to phone intercom and the ability to page other handsets for other people to pick up the line, that we bought this new set.

When I opened the box, I was surprised that physically, these phones were identical to our decade old handsets. Perfect in my opinion. Everything is in the same place for the most part as the old phones which our muscle memory is already set for. What I think is happening, is that VTech is able to offer these highly capable phones at such a low price is because their not having to retool everything.

VTech deserves real respect for this product.

Quality of this system is OK voice quality is good most of the time. Occasional crackling but could be outside interference.

( Extra Handset Bundle is a joke! this is an old style retro handset for use with a cell phone looked to me that it would have worked on the base freeing up a portable handset to roam with !
ALL in ALL you get a 2 line VTech Phone System that works.with 5 handsets ( DISPLAY SCREEN is Smaller and harder to see than the Panasonic hand sets I had replaced. ) wanting to save money and a good value for the dollar this is the answer to not having multiple phone for 2 different phone lines.

I don't recommend this product at all. I purchased this for my own business and already 3 of the handsets are not working properly. I needed a 2-Line phone system with multiple handsets so I gave VTech a try but I am pretty disappointed that after only 6 months after the purchase I am already needing to buy a entirely new phone system to replace this POS. I will steer clear from VTech and look at other phone brands regardless if they give you a free book with this "phone bundle". Don't be suckered.
