Buy this card if you want to spend time messing with drivers and them it's not clear on their website which driver is the multi-function and which is the UART. The driver on the included disk loaded fine but the COM ports wouldn't show up in Device Manager (WIn7 32-bit) even after a couple reboots (double checked the we had the right driver and we did). Really needed a card that we could put in, load the driver it worked out the box with no issues and move on with our project. Now we have to order the other more expensive card and wait for it to arrive and it will most likely work right away. Sometimes it's just not worth it to go on the cheap, now we've spent an excessive additional amount of time and the labor costs incurred and the project is halted when we could of been moving on. Syba... never again...

Easy enough to install, 1 port didn't work but I only needed 2 and it was too much work for me to take the card out, return it, put a new one in. Just as easy to not use that port, but if you need all 4, check the card before the return window closes. Serial devices are the bane of my existence but until I can kill off fax modems, they are here to stay.
May not work with some HP AMD Processor computers

It appears that these cards with are based on the MOSCHIP MCS9904 Chipset will not work with HP Computers with AMD Processors. I have tried 2 different cards from different vendors and both will not allow my computer to boot.

I needed a serial port on my new computer to hook up my weather station, I had been using USB, but all the power saving features and other software oddities made the connection break every day or so. With the serial port I have had no problems and it has been running consistently for almost 2 years. This board installed easily in my PCI 1x slot and I was set, I recommend this for those that need serial connections on new computers.
