Bent my original hitch support.
BCAugust 29, 2017
The Lawn Pro Hitch is very sturdy and lightweight, probably high quality aluminum. My issue is not with the construction but the design.

Originally I had a 2" ball directly mounted to my lawn tractor but the trailer neck would rub the rear tires on a sharp turn. The Lawn Pro Hitch raised the trailer neck up high enough that this wasn't a problem anymore...HOWEVER, the weight of the trailer was now bending down the bottom hitch support on the tractor with the same load I was previously hauling. If you notice in the picture the hitch extends away from the tractor about 8 inches or so. This puts extra torque on the bottom support, like a wrench with an 8 inch handle, even with the 2 support arms on top.

I removed the Lawn Pro Hitch, bent back the bottom support, hooked things up the 'old' way and am now more careful with sharp turns.
Good bracket for towing.

I've only used this with a couple of hundred pounds of topsoil in the bed of a trailer that weight around 500 lbs. Really like it but not sure how well my John Deere riding mower would move a trailer loaded with a yard of top soil which would be closer to 1500 lbs. Seems that the mower tiers were torquing enough in turns with the lighter load and might self destruct with the extra weight.

It is a bugger to put on so when you get it on, you're not going to want to remove it.

I would buy it again.
Jury still out

This unit is made of heavy aluminum brackets which bolt to the existing hole and to the back of the tractor. I am using this on a Sears Pro-line lawn tractor and I had to do some creative shop bending to fit the existing holes in the endplate of my tractor. Once bolted in it seems to be a sturdy mount which allows a ball-type fitting on the upper bracket as well as using the lower bracket with a pin.

I have not yet used the ball mount on a trailer, I do have a specific job for this but have not used it yet.
Good drill and bit needed

We did get this for a Cub Cadet. It did take some effort adapting it to it. Yes you do have to drill 2 holes on the back of the cub cadet. Good drill and bit needed. First you should take out the battery so you can see what you are drilling through. We also had to drill a new hole through the main bar as the holes for that we were not able to use. This took a drill press as you have to drill through both sides. Was worth the time and effort.
This is really cool.

This thing is AWESOME!! A trailer hitch on your lawn tractor! And the hitch is in the perfect spot for the trailer!

My favorite part is that it's super easy to install, it's super heavy duty and you can still use the pin attachment trailers!

This is an awesome product. I'm super happy with! I'm glad I ordered this and found this product!!
