Dorothy costume worthy but too big

I first purchased the the glitter high Mary Jane shoes in medium which were too small so I decided to go with a large I wear a shoe size 8.5-9 and I was swimming in these. I kept slipping out the whole night. I tried placing makeup sponges in the shoes to help but it didn't help. I was super bummed.
A size 6 person would've been fine. But these shoes don't come in numeric sizes

I wear a size 5 and the size small was too big. A size 6 person would've been fine. But these shoes don't come in numeric sizes. I was able to make them work and they looked like Dorothy shoes so it was fine for one night.

Okay, so it's not that the shoes are crappy or anything, I mean they're beautiful shoes, but it's my fault for listening to the one review that said they were too small for her. I wear a 7 1/2-8 so I got the medium. They were huge and worse with socks. I just got them yesterday, so I had my friend try them on and she wears a size 10, and they fit her perfectly! I don't want to return them, because I don't want to pay the money for that, so would double sided tape work to make them fit on Halloweenso they won't slip off with the socks?
They are nice shoes, heel doesn't have sequin on them but ...

Here's the scoop! I also LOVE the shoes! However I had to send the first pair back, because they were so big on me. I tried to go by the shoe guide and I wear a size 7 to 8 so I ordered 7 to 8 and what came was a very large shoe that could have fit a man. So if you wear a size 7 to 8 my recommendation to you is to order The medium size.
I think that you will be very pleased with the purchase. The shoes are real they look real and they feel real they've even got about a 2 1/2 inch heel on them, which didn't bother me at all. Even though I had to go to the medium-size I was still able to wear a pair socks with them.
I would recommend the shoes to anyone who is interested in a very nice pair of ruby slippers, they complement the Dorothy costume completely . Just remember if you wear size 7 or eight to get medium, if you wear anything over an eight then expect about a 10 1/2 to 11 size shoe to arrive.
