fantastic tone with this pick-up
I switch between my Jazz bass and the standup.... and no volume adjustment is required.

So far so good....I can't speak to Longevity Ive only had it a couple of months. I followed the instructions and installed this myself. If you are not " crafty" or experienced with woodworking tools ( It requires you to modify the bridge slightly ) I would purchase this and take it to a professional to be installed....If you consider yourself a handy man, a new bridge is about 50$ give it a shot. I used a coping saw after I had it chucked up in a good vise with good lighting. I measured and marked the bridge with a fine pencil mark. after filing and sanding I was a few microns too large and it didn't stay where I put it, nor was it loud or sounded very good. I took my trusty roll of scotch 33 and wrapped it 2 complete times and WAHOOOO !!!!

This pickup was very easy to install, it took me longer to find sandpaper for the installation than it did for me to actually install the pickup. I was happily surprised by the dynamic range with it. You can't just use any amp though you need a fairly high quality amp to get the right "bounce" sound that a bass has. I have yet to use a bow with it but overall very happy. Especially for the low price

This pickup does not need anything besides an okay amp to sound great, and ridiculously cheap.
NO FEEDBACK unless to try to make it feed back.
Lots of bass and midrange; the pickup could be switched from left side to right side, and this makes all the difference from bass to bass. A preamp only makes this pickup better. DEFINITELY a good idea to buy this
