It has always been between the "H" bandage and the Israeli battle dressing for me. I find the Israeli secures just a little better than the H.
You will want this to stop any major bleeds.
I have used these both in the military and in my civilian occupations and I could not ask for a better dressing. They are effective and will save your life. The packages tears easily and it small enough to fit in most trauma kits. There are hooks that secure the end of the dressing as well as ontop of the pad that for a good clamp down on the wound. Very easy to use and is very durable in unfortunate situations.

Building my own first aid kit as we camp and visit the range routinely. While I am not the recipient of advanced medical training the Army and my own interests have led to a lot of reading, questions for emergency personnel, etc. It's easy to perform a few life saving procedures one of which is controlling bleeding. This bandage was developed on the battlefield and is something that has become one of my kit components. For a few bucks it could contribute to saving your or a loved ones life.

These are carried by the US Armed Forces. A pressure bandage that can be applied one handed to yourself to prevent bleeding out until upper echelon care can be received. Amazon has a great price on these an as always super fast shipping with Prime. I would highly recommend everyone have on of these in each of our vehicles and a couple at home. The response time of EMS can vary, especially if you live in a rural area. These could buy precious time to save a live in the case of an injury with sever hemorrhage.

Israeli bandages are a must have for any med-kit. They are small and lightweight but can provide an invaluable service if needed. Hermetically sealed by two separate layers, these bandages are guaranteed sterile. Easily ripped open and just about idiot-proof to use. A label on the bandage clearly marks "place above wound" kind of like a claymore mine saying "front toward enemy". The binder clip helps you torgue the bandage down on top of a wound and apply pressure and the c-clip at the end of the unraveled bandage helps hold it securely in place. These things are a no-brainer to add to any serious med-kit. Throw in some ABD bandages and you've got yourself some great essential items in your kit.

Very nice item to have in your emergency packs. I had some expiring funds in an FSA account and needed to pick up a few items. These are great because they won't expire. I don't know if I'd pay full retail, but with "burning money" I'm glad I bought (I bought 10) - you can't regret having one (or three) of these in your car or kit.
