Heavy and well-balanced, these feel great in the hand and look fabulous on the table. The knife is finely serrated and does very well at cutting -- I may not need steak knives again. The forks are comfortable to hold, and the tines are buffed to prevent injuries; the spoons are nicely shaped. The serving spoons feel overly heavy, but better that than lightweight and cheezy. I ordered additional soup and ice tea spoons and am very pleased with them. Oneida has served my family well -- I grew up on the "Twin Star" pattern (and still love it), this pattern replaces the "Marquette" pattern I was gifted with many years ago which is still immaculate but no longer fits my style. IMO you can't go wrong with Oneida brand cutlery.

I have recently purchased this item so can't comment on sustained durability but I am very impressed at initial use. Pices have a very sturdy feel - given its price I was worried about how substantial it was going to be. This is the kind of purchase where I prefer to touch and feel prior to buying. Thank goodness for the numerous and detailed product reviews. All pieces are smooth and no visible flaws. As I said, the pieces feel substantial. I tested the case of them falling off the plate like others have commented on. You have to have the pieces practically hanging off the plate for them to tip off. Not a significant issue in my book. I love the look of these on the table!

A beautiful and hefty set. They look wonderful. We have had them for months now and absolutely no complaints. We use them for everyday flatware and they are showing no wear at all. The knives do come out of the dishwasher with little spots sometimes, but that goes away when you pre-rinse your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. All knives do it if you don't pre-rinse so that should not deter you from buying these.

I am not a petite person. I have fairly large hands and HATE dinky little spoons and forks with short handles. I saw one review of this set where a woman felt the forks were too big. I figured "that is the set for me", and I was right. The spoons and forks on this set (even the salad forks) are larger than most I've seen in the stores. This is a high gloss set, not the matte finish. I recommended this set to my brother and sister-in-law. When my brother eats (a big man) he looks like he is using dollhouse silverware.
