I still have the first generation Swiffer mop, which I use for just about any floor cleaning in my home. Over time, I removed the bottle holder and hose because it began leaking, clogging, and I wanted to use my own preferred floor cleaners. Removing the bottle holder also allowed me to get into spaces I wouldn't have been able to reach otherwise. The main problems are my 1950s tiled bathroom floor and the kitchen vinyl floor. Hairspray and cooking splashes tend to leave nasty, sticky layers on floors, attracting more dirt and dust. Since Swiffer does not offer any heavy duty scrubbing pads, I was so happy to learn, that my favorite cleaning pad brand, Scotch Brite, offered these large pads. They work great with my Swiffer and together with 409 I now have clean floors without much scrubbing effort at all. Cleaning has just become a little more fun again.

These Scotch Brite scouring pads are large. I was able to cut each pad into three pieces for dish washing use. They work really well, particularly on my aluminum pots and pans. The metal pans were burned and a few scrubs from these pads made them shiny again. Things that could not be cleaned by sponge, were cleaned really well by these pads. With me cutting them into three pieces each, these pads will last forever. The pads can stay strong for about 20 heavy duty loads of dish/pot/pan cleaning. When they no longer can clean off the burns from the pots and pans, then I switch them out for a new one. The old ones will still clean dishes, but not very well on metal pots/pans. Great value for the price.

Great product, great price (especially considering these are the size that you can cut each one into four pieces for home kitchen use, and at least half for more heavy duty or outdoor uses). I use one (or actually, a quarter of one) for a few days to scrub off my Ceramic top stove (I also used them previously on my gas stove), dishes, pots and pans. When it looks a little worn, I toss it. (I do spray it with Clorox Clean Up with Bleach every time I'm finished using it for the moment, then rinse after it has set for 30 seconds, just to kind of clean it of germs before the next use.) I use these with the Barkeeper's Friend on my smooth cooktop and it looks like new after I clean it.

I have been looking for these because I bought some YEARS ago and really liked them for when I need a little more scrubbing power. There is one beside my sink that has been through the washer and dryer, in and out of dishwater, scoured the sink, scrubbed a good deal of pots and pans, and is still intact. I will be glad to retire the poor old thing as soon as my new order comes in, but, the lasting power of this product is astounding!

A few years ago I made the mistake of putting in one of those fake granite countertops in black. BIG mistake! It is impossible to see the dirt and crusty stuff on that surface. Whereas a sponge doesn't always find the lumps and bumps of dried on crud, this product is thin enough that I can feel them through the scrubber and then "rub them out" with ease.

It is also handy for those blops and drops of food and grease that a mop or sponge can't quite pick up off the floor!

Can't wait for my order to arrive. I've got some scrubbin' to do!
