It really works well
Jim TJuly 24, 2017
I've only used it once but it is fantastic and easy to use. I put an extended drain hose on it and sucked a ton of algae from my pond. I have had no issues and it works just as the manufacturer claims, it pumps from one side to the other automatically and effortlessly. I experimented with the different heads and they all work as intended. I sucked up some gravel until I got used to it and adjusted the head, then it was perfect. I highly recommend this unit and I would buy it again it's the best I've used.
Mostly satisfied

I have a 5k gallon shallow pond (18 inches sloping to 0), attached to our swimming pool, no fish. I mainly got this to suck up all the string algae, elm leaves, jacaranda leaves, and other detritus material. I've used it for maybe 5 hours and have been generally satisfied with it. The suction is great with one attachment but diminishes significantly with each additional attachment. Would not use this for anything deeper than a few feet. I don't use any of the special nozzles or brushes, they seems flimsy and unnecessary. Vacuuming can be slightly frustrating when you have material that clogs the opening of the succinct pipe. The long stiff Jacaranda branches are a pain. If they get sucked up they will likely jam the rubber flaps inside the machine and I have to stop the machine and remove the branch. I have chunks of bark that get stuck too. But I don't see any pond vacuum that would be able to suck that up. String algae, small leave, or soft leaves, are sucked up with ease. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't start easily. I can't figure out what the problem is. It takes me a few minutes and then it starts for no apparent reason. It runs for a long time and then it refuses to start again. It's not overheating. I feel it's a defect in either my unit or in their design.
Except for the one time a rock got sucked up and the device had to be un-jammed

I have a pond that is approximately 11,000 gallons (16 x 20 x 4.5). I put it in 5 years ago, and have never done a thorough cleaning. I use the pond for irrigation, and swimming in the summer. This Vac was a WORKHORSE!! I drained my pond to about 4 inches. The bottom had muddy sludge, small pebbles, leaf pieces and dead bugs. Except for the one time a rock got sucked up and the device had to be un-jammed, the vac worked non stop. Total time on the job was about 6 hours. Make sure the discharge is either level with the vac, or on a downward slope. This is one of the best purchases I've made. It exceeded my expectations.
Fantastic

If I had to purchase it again I WOULD however I Don't have to purchase it again because it is a quality pond vac and hasn't quit working yet and it does such a good job that it even catches any sand in my pond and bags it for me for easy removal.
LOVE THIS-Cleaning the pond is SO much easier!!!

Changed my spring cleaning from an all weekend affair to a half day!!! I dont use the leaf bag-I just suck out the leaves, the hose discharges away from the pond, and I keep the hose running so the water level doesnt drop too low. No more hand bucketing muck and leaves out of the bottom. This thing is AWESOME!!!!!!
I do a heavy opening clean in the Spring, then I USED to not do another good cleaning until Fall. I would do general maintenance-but by Fall the pind definitely needed cleaned again.
This year, the pond had so much muck on the bottom I was scared I was going to REALLY mess up the water quality by trying to remove it AND leave the fish in.
Once the Pond Vac arrived I was able to remove ALL the muck, leaves, etc and only make the water slightly cloudy while I was cleaning. I ran the hose the whole time to ensure clean water was enterring the pind while the muck was being removed.
By the time I was done-the filters had removed the cloudiness from the water within a few hours after I finished.
The POND O VAC 4 is sturdy, comes with assorted useful attachments, extension poles to make it useful for most sized ponds. The ONLY thing I wish was different is the discharge hose-wish it was longer, but overall I am THRILLED with this and my pind has never looked bettet!!!!

Arrived FAST, packed very well
