Great Craftsman replacement
J. Weiler•May 14, 2017
Works perfectly as a replacement for the junk that comes standard with a Craftsman 10" band saw. Bar and adjuster have little slop and its very utilitarian, decently priced, and can withstand some occasional LIGHT shop abuse... what else could you want?
You'll be glad you bought this rather than going thru the trouble ot making one

Either futz around and make your own or get down to business and buy this one. Well made and works as expected.
It fits a 5/8" slot! Craftsman table saw owners read this!

I have a Craftsman band saw that came with a cheap plastic miter gauge that literally broke before I used it once. I purchased this expecting to purchase a 5/8" bar so it would fit my band saw. It came in today and I was quite surprised that it had 2 bars in the package. One is the t-bar that probably fits the Rikon saw. The other is an aluminium bar that is used for saws without a t slot. It just happens to be 5/8" and work perfectly with my saw. Ok, not quite perfect but close enough to make me very happy that I don't need to spend more money and time making my own. The rectangle bar that comes with this is .207" thick and .625" wide (actually it varies between .623 and .627 wide). The bar has a total length of 7 7/8" and in front of the miter gauge it extends 4 7/8". There is a little side to side play but it is good enough for me. Thank you to Rikon for including the 5/8" bar that many people will use.
Not worth spending the money on!

The miter gauge that I received is not the miter gauge pictured! The gauge did come with two rods for straight and T slots, but it is so dainty that it really looks more like a toy than a piece of usable equipment! BTW if you already have a 5/8" miter gauge there is no reason to buy one specifically for a Rikon bad saw! There is absolutely nothing special about the miter gauge slot, it will accept any 5/8" miter gauge, my table has a straight sided slot but from the parts that came with this miter gauge some might have T slots. But miter gauge rods are a dime a dozen and can easily be switched out.
Rough

I got it for a Craftsman which it fits well, but it slides very roughly and and the aluminum edges leave visible scratch marks on the table top. The Craftsman plastic guage is much smoother although the scale is more precise on this one. I'm staying with the plastic one as much as possible. This one is just too rough.
