Quad Runner Advanced Rocket - Versatile Mid-power Cluster Rocket
g0ldnd0g•November 4, 2011
Quest's Quad Runner is not for beginners. Rocketeers should have considerable experience flying single engine model rockets before attempting to fly clustered model rocket engines. That said, Quad Runner is a very versatile rocket capable of two or four engine cluster power. All parts are laser cut for precision assembly. Quest's engine retaining solution of the screw/washer/wingnut is secure and less obtrusive than more conventional engine "clips" used to retain engines in the rocket. The big 18" nylon parachute ensures a safe recovery. It should take two to four days to build this kit depending on how you decide to paint it. If you choose the suggested paint scheme (two-tone), it will take longer. I would give Quest's suggested paint scheme a level four difficulty out of five.
If you want lots of smoke and fire with realistic liftoff and crowd pleasing recovery under a big bright parachute, this is a great "advanced" rocket!
