It works exactly like I expected it to

It works exactly like I expected it to. It was easy to set up and the hardware that came with it seems like it's good quality.
It fills up very fast during a heavy rain, so have a plan to divert the excess water somewhere away from your house. The little knobs on the sides, near the top, can be cut open and used for that purpose.
I'll probably get around to painting the "bands" on the barrel black at some point. It definitely looks like plastic right now. I think a small amount of black paint should improve the looks dramatically. I wish they had done this at the factory.

Barrel is just the right size and th espogot ont he bottom works great. I have this up on my deck with a hose and drip line attached. I have the gutters flowing rainwater into the barrel, or if no rain, I fill with a hose then let gravity take the water down into the flower beds. No fussing.
Does the job

Works great. We have a concrete sidewalk that the drainpipe landed on and would stain. This barrel fits flat against the house nicely, collects rain, and looks nice. We bought the barrel with the metal spigot and not plastic one for durability. The spigot is low to the ground so if you need it higher you might think about the riser to put it on.

Brass spigot works good. DO NOT buy with plastic spigot. Hose won't stay on it and it leaks! The overflow has no threads to put a drain hose on, so it pours out in front of barrel. Very hard to connect 2 barrels together.
Great product

Easy to set up. The color I chose blends right into the landscaping and the house. Not obtrusive. I also purchased the gutter diverterprokit but have not had a chance to cut my downspout and install. I did however, connect the two barrels and after transferring the rainwater I had previously collected in tubs both barrels were full. There is some bowing on the backside of the barrels now that they are full but I did have room to place them a bit away from the building walls so it is not an issue. I also placed the raised up on a few 12x12 stepping stones stacked. This allowed for the clearance needed for the spigot and hose attachment. I purchased the bug pellets which I dropped into the barrels
