Our soon to be 8 year old is in love with this. She's been "designing" for 3 years but was frustrated that she couldn't draw models very well or variations of types of clothing.
She loves this. Problem solved. It makes her feel like she's really designing and loves the many options this book provides.

Trying to decide between this set and the younger version? Perhaps this will clear it up

This is actually the second one I've ordered for my 8 year old daughter who is obsessed with project runway and likes to "compete" right along with them. The first one was the one geared towards younger children. The main difference between this set and that one is the figures. The figures here are more of a 'barbie' shape and size whereas the other one had more exaggerated features in the sketches. So if you are looking at both of them I can tell you my daughter loves them equally. They both come with a ton of stencils, stickers, and 'fabric' ideas that are perfect for creative children who love to color, draw and design. Both sets have the same general contents (stencils, stickers, etc) so if you are on the fence I would say think of your child. If they have a slightly younger mindset I would go with their Lil Angels portfolio but if they are slightly more mature for their age this one will hit home.

Very well organized set of stencils, pre-drawn tasteful basic model figures, pattern suggestions, assortment of design fashions.. On quality paper best with colored pencils for shading and precision design drawing.
My young Daughter is 9 years, but has been interested in Fashion Design drawing since she was 3 years old. She has nearly used all of the pages in the Project Runway book she has with her detailed and improving dress fashions, so I am purchasing a second book, plus the Fashion Angels Interior Design book, so she can learn to draw objects, scenery, and backgrounds to add to her fashion clothing drawings.
Look for Barbie, Pets, Interior Design, etc. in the Fashion Angels Series..
